What is a sponsor?

In the name of Jesus, you can sponsor a child in Uganda through the DOVE Uganda Children’s Fund.  In partnership with local churches in Uganda, you can provide support to one or more children to break the cycle of death.   You will provide a uniform,  food, schooling and medical care for a child.   You will also receive a photo and a biography of your child.

What is the cost of sponsorship?

The cost to sponsor a child is $20 a month.  Payments may be made monthly, quarterly, semi-annually or annually.  Please provide your child’s name and ID # on all payments.  For your convenience you can pay by credit card through paypal, or automatic withdrawal.  For automatic withdrawal contact our treasurer Linda Niemuth at Linda@doveugandachildrensfund.org

How long will I need to sponsor a child?

The child you sponsor is depending on you.  We are asking that you make a commitment to sponsor your child through high school.  We understand that situations change and if you feel  that you can no longer support your child, please let us know as soon as possible.

Can I communicate with my sponsored child?

We encourage you to write to your child.  All correspondence to your child will need to come to the children’s fund and will be mailed from Princeton, IL.  Please include $3.00 for postage. Feel free to send photos, coloring pages or colorful pictures to your child.  Your child will enjoy hearing about your family.   When you are writing and sharing, please be sensitive to the conditions and environment of your  sponsored child.  Your letters will be a great encouragement to your child.  Please note that mail can take anywhere from 4-6 weeks to be delivered.  Do not send money or gifts directly to your child. Can I send my child a gift? What about birthday’s and holidays?

Yes!  You are encouraged to remember your child.  At birthdays and holidays we are asking that you send your child a card.  You may bless your child and their family monetarily in the following 2 ways.  You may bless your child and their family as many times as you feel led.  Once your child has been blessed, all extra funds will be put into a gift account that may bless other families.

1.  Family Gift  For $60 USD, you can give your child’s family a gift that will benefit the entire family.  Gifts may include a goat that will be used as an ongoing source of milk for the family, or several chickens for eggs and protein or funds to start a small business. 

2. Individual Gift  For $20 USD, you can supply your child with a special gift.   Gifts may  include a mattress, mosquito net, bed sheets, blanket, bible and then any other additional items that would benefit your child. 

Simply add a note with your additional payment, if you would like to bless your child’s family in any of the above ways.

 

We have organizations and individuals that donate monies to the children’s fund to supply children with mattresses and other items.  These items may then bless your child and other children in the program.
